Product-Specific
Currently, we offer a beehive specifically designed to fit a standard Langstroth frame. As a result, this makes it easy and cost-effective for beekeepers to transition their existing equipment to our AAC hive. Meanwhile, we are actively working on introducing additional designs, including a Layens beehive. Stay tuned for exciting updates in the near future!
An AAC beehive weighs around 266 pounds, including its four lids, each of which weighs 22-23 pounds. While the hive is relatively heavy, its exceptional durability and long lifespan provide substantial long-term advantages.
The AAC itself requires no sealing or waterproofing. However, we apply a natural limewash finish to protect and enhance the material. Over time, especially in wet climates, you may notice the hive turning a natural gray as the limewash weathers. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect the hive’s integrity. You’re welcome to re-limewash every few years if you prefer a fresh look, but it’s optional and purely for appearance.
