About Us
Welcome to Shelley Hive Co., a woman-owned small business dedicated to improving bee survival through innovative hive design. Founded in February 2024, the company was built on a shared passion for beekeeping and a commitment to creating better environments for honey bees.
Erin Coffelt is the majority owner and leads all business operations, strategic direction, and partnerships. With a strong background in business and design, she oversees company growth, product development, and long-term planning.
Bob Coffelt brings hands-on beekeeping experience and construction expertise from his masonry background, supporting product development and real-world application.
Together, we developed an AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) beehive designed for durability, insulation, and long-term performance. Our insulated hive creates a more stable honey bee environment, improving colony health and reducing maintenance for beekeepers.

Our AAC Beehives set a new standard in the industry. They offer unparalleled durability, superior thermal properties, and are completely free from chemical treatments, setting them apart in the U.S market. These hives require less maintenance, which not only saves time and costs for beekeepers but also provides a more natural and protective environment for bees, increasing colony survival.

Sustainability is at the heart of our operations. Our beehives are eco-friendly, made from 100% organic and recyclable AAC material. We are proud to partner with ‘Save the Bee,’ a non-profit organization dedicated to bee conservation. A portion of all sales goes to support their initiatives, and we continuously engage in research and development to push the boundaries of what’s possible in bee habitat technology.
