We just got our Shelley Hive once we started to assemble the hive it took less than 15 minutes to finish.I am very impressed with the way the hive went together. I live on the west side of Mt Hood and in the past I have had problems with getting my bee’s through the winter months with this new hive I feel my winter kill will be reduced to zero because of the design of this hive. I feel this was a good investment for the apiary and will post my findings as the year goes on. Thank you to the folks at Shelley Hives for the time and effort it took to bring this hive to market.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear how smoothly the assembly went and that you’re feeling confident about getting your bees through the winter. It means a lot to us that you’re already seeing the value in the hive’s design, especially in such a challenging environment like the west side of Mt. Hood! We can’t wait to hear how things go throughout the year and are here if you need anything along the way. Thanks again for your support!

A (Beautiful) Game-Changer for Backyard Beekeeping!
I absolutely love my Shelley Hive! Bob and Erin (the founders) were incredibly helpful, even assisting me with the installation in my backyard last August. As a new beekeeper with two colonies—one in a traditional Langstroth hive and the other in my Shelley Hive—I can confidently say that the Shelley Hive has become the centerpiece of my backyard garden. Not only does it add to the beauty of my space, but it’s also an instant conversation starter whenever I have guests over!
I’ve got nothing against my traditional hive, but the Shelley hive really is a head-turner. And…it’s more than just pretty, cool, and elegant.
Beyond its stunning aesthetic, there are so many reasons why I love this hive:
1. Easy Assembly – The design made setup simple and straightforward.
2. Eco-Friendly Materials – Made with AAC, this hive is a sustainable choice. It’s made to last and looks like it!
3. Superior Insulation – As my bees overwinter, I’m already noticing the benefits of its insulation, and I expect it to provide the same protection during the heat of summer.
4.Top-Bar Design – As a backyard beekeeper, I appreciate how much easier it is to access and care for my colony compared to traditional setups.
The Shelley Hive has exceeded my expectations, offering both functionality and beauty while keeping my bees happy and healthy. If you’re looking for a modern, sustainable, and well-designed hive, I highly recommend it!
